(Rinascita Falchi Rossoblù) Caserta, denominazione poi variata in A.S.D. Caserta Calcio, dalla stagione 2006-2007.

THE FALCONS FROM CASERTA

It was 1954 when a neapolitan newspaper decided to launch a survey among readers to choose a new symbol for the Casertana. In this consultation prevailed the proposal presented by Gerardo Miscuzzi who designed a majestic falcon portrayed in flight with its wings unfolded. From that moment the falcon became a sort of icon for the fans of Caserta, so much so that the team was also recognized by the nickname “falchetti.” On the banners, however, the falcon symbol did not appear immediately. In the early 1960s, banners with red and blue score were used that reported only the company name and the indication of the sports season. In the 1970s, however, the banners evolved and maintaining a red and blue background brought back a central shield coat of arms in which there is a balloon surmounted by a falcon in flight. In addition, on this pennant, unlike the previous one, appears the year of the foundation of the team (1908). The combination of red and blue shield and sickle remained a constant to this day. The exceptions are particular types of pennants such as those made at the end of the 1990-1991 season, issued to celebrate promotion to Serie B, or those made in 2005 under the acronym R.F.R. (Rinascita Falchi Rossoblù) Caserta, a name then changed to A.S.D. Caserta Calcio, from the 2006-2007 season.
