La nuova Coppa Intercontinentale

Dopo che negli anni ’70, alcune squadre europee, avevano deciso di non partecipare alla finale della Coppa Intercontinentale, la Toyota propose questa soluzione. Una finale nel Sol Levante e il vincitore si sarebbe deciso attraverso una gara unica. E’ il 1980 e ad affrontarsi sarebbero state Nacional de Montevideo contro Nottingham Forest. Ad avere la meglio sono gli uruguagi che il 28 novembre alzano al cielo questo trofeo.
