Con la vittoria in Coppa del Mondo nel 1982 i gagliardetti azzurri hanno un cambio sostanziale anche perché la Federazione rinnova il suo logo a partire dal 1984 adottando uno stemma circolare in cui all’interno trovano spazio le tre stelle dorate su campo azzurro, le scritte “Italia” e “FIGC” assieme al tricolore in posizione diagonale. Prima di arrivare al 1984 i gagliardetti attraversano una fase di transizione, se così possiamo dire, poiché vengono utilizzati esemplari stampati che, solo in alcune circostanze, riportano i dettagli della partita.
