Fanpage ricorda la sfida tra Juventus e Ferencvaros, finaliste della Coppa delle Fiere del 1965. Ecco uno stralcio dell’articolo.

[…] Nella notte dei tempi del calcio, scavando, si trova un precedente illustre tra la Juventus e il Ferencvaros, che si sfidarono il 23 giugno del 1965 in palio c’era la Coppa delle Fiere, l’antesignano dell’Europa League. La finale si disputò in gara secca, a Torino, gli ungheresi si imposero per 1-0. […] La Juve era super favorita, ma in quella finale non giocava la sua stella il grande Omar Sivori. Mancava pure Sandro Salvadore, difensore centrale di prima fascia. Ma la squadra schierata era di tutto rispetto con il portiere Anzolin, i difensori della nazionale Castano e Bercellino, che conquisteranno l’Europeo del 1968, il forte spagnolo Luis Dal Sol, Mazzia e Stacchini – che sono stati al Padova gli scopritori di Del Piero, mentre in avanti c’era il grande Nestor Combin, franco-argentino. Il Ferencvaros era un rivale da rispettare. Il calcio della grande Ungheria non era più quel fenomenale del decennio precedente, ma i magiari arrivarono in finale eliminando Roma, Manchester United e Athletic Bilbao.
