“Grande e grosso, bravo nell’anticipo, formidabile di testa, viene soprannominato l’Armèri, l’armadio in dialetto bolognese. I tifosi ne apprezzano non solo le qualità sul campo, ma anche l’arguzia e la simpatia con cui conquista tutti, anche chi per ragioni anagrafiche lo conosce solo a fine carriera. Stabilitosi a Nemi, nella campagna laziale, Janich infatti torna spesso a Bologna, finché la salute glielo consente, per salutare i vecchi amici e respirare il profumo di una città che gli è rimasta nel cuore. Quella città che oggi lo piange come uno dei figli più cari”.

Così si può leggere nel sito ufficiale del Bologna nel messaggio di cordoglio per Franco Janich. Anche la Lazio, altra squadra in cui ha militato l’ex calciatore, non ha mancato di ricordarlo attraverso i canali ufficiali del Club, sottolineando come Janich abbia vinto la Coppa Italia del 1958 con i colori biancocelesti.

Era nato a Udine il 27 marzo del 1937 ed esordisce in Serie A con l’Atalanta prima di trasferirsi alla Lazio di Fulvio Bernardini. Qui, come ricordato, vince la Coppa Italia nel 1958. Proprio Bernardini lo vuole nella sua avventura in rossoblù e lo trasforma in libero. Qui gioca dal 1961 al 1972, 376 partite (294 in Serie A più lo spareggio scudetto dell’Olimpico, 40 in Coppa Italia, 41 in Europa), vincendo uno scudetto nel 1964, una Coppa Italia nel 1970 e una Mitropa Cup nel 1961.
