Lo Slavia Sofia è una tra le più blasonate squadre bulgare e vanta il primato di non essere mai retrocessa dalla massima divisione. Il gagliardetto odierno, che è anche espressione del formato classico utilizzato dalle squadre bulgare, riconduce al 1957 un’annata particolare per la squadra poiché ricorda il ritorno all’originaria denominazione dopo la fondazione nel 1913 dopo avere cambiato per tre volte il proprio nome. Nel 1996 i “Bianchi”, cosi come vengono soprannominati dagli addetti ai lavori e dai propri tifosi, raggiunsero il culmine della storia sportiva aggiudicandosi il campionato e la coppa bulgara.
