Il Fatto Quotidiano racconta l’acquisto di Taffarel da parte del Parma, avvenuto esattamente 30 anni fa. Vi proponiamo un estratto dell’articolo.

[…] L’annuncio ufficiale avvenne a Mondiale terminato. Il 14 luglio 1990 il Parma acquistava dall’Internacional di Porto Alegre il portiere brasiliano Claudio Taffarel. Calisto Tanzi era proprietario del club neopromosso in Serie A e della Parmalat, azienda che aveva interessi economici in Brasile. Taffarel rappresentava un perfetto uomo marketing per il Paese sudamericano. […] Gli altri due stranieri del Parma allenato da Nevio Scala sarebbero stati lo svedese Brolin e il belga Grun. Esattamente trent’anni fa dunque al preparatore dei portieri Vincenzo Di Palma, da sempre nello staff di Scala, venne detto che per la prima volta in carriera avrebbe lavorato con uno straniero. “Taffarel fu preso come un marchio Parmalat, ma fu bello lavorare con lui e confrontarmi con una cultura diversa”. Taffarel a ben vedere non è stato il primissimo portiere straniero della Serie A. Il pioniere è stato lo jugoslavo Zvonimir Monsider, che la Lazio portò in Italia dalla Dinamo Zagabria nel lontano 1949.
