Candela aprì le marcature nel primo tempo con un tiro dalla distanza. Montella, ad inizio ripresa, realizzò il raddoppio con una conclusione al volo e poi capitan Totti segnò il terzo gol con un tap-in vincente sulla corta respinta di Taglialatela sulla conclusione del numero 32. Dopo lo Scudetto della stagione precedente, la squadra giallorossa alzò al cielo un altro trofeo.
