It was the year 1970 when the synergy between Paris FC and Stade St Germain (team from the town of St Germain en Laye), received with great enthusiasm and with the direct support of the French football federation, saw the light of Paris St Germain, whose foundation filled the absence of a Parisian club in the French top division.

A young team but absolute protagonist of transalpine football. The numbers, in fact, are on his side: 41 national titles conquered, practically very rare seasons in which the Parisians have remained dry of victories, as well as two affirmations in the international field including the victory in the Cup Winners’ Cup won in 1996 against the Austrians of Rapid Vienna.

All this consolidated by a project that currently provides a very solid ownership and a very competitive team that led to play in the Champions League final last season and with a future, in the short term, full of possible conquests thanks to the prowess of champions like the Brazilian Neymar and the inspiration of the rising star of world football, the world champion Mbappè.

In full harmony with the city, PSG has adopted the red and blue colors of the city sign as well as the related symbols: the stylized silhouette of the Eiffel Tower as well as the lily representative of both the French monarchy and Saint Germain en Laye.

These symbols are also displayed on the team’s pennants as in the one made for the Paris Tournament, a quadrangular in which Roma also participated, which was played in the summer of 2010 to mark the fortieth anniversary of the club’s foundation. This pennant that PSG delivered to Porto and Girondins de Bordeaux, teams met in the competition, shows the crests of all the participants together with the profile of the Parco dei Principi, the home of PSG. For those who love statistics, that tournament, the first edition of which dates back to 1957, ended with the success of the Girondins de Bordeaux who beat PSG in the final.
